The “NORMES” is a non-profit, independent and non-partisan group. It was founded by a team of students to inform, respond and react to daily phenomena of inequality, racism, violence and discrimination faced by individuals based on gender, gender expression, sexual orientation and gender identity.
We seek to expand the group, provide personal training and information to individuals, on gender and sexuality issues. We look forward to extending our activities to various areas of political and social life.
The first step of the group is the creation of the homonymous internet platform “NORMES.gr” which is to be available to the public from December 10, 2020, a milestone day for human rights, as 72 years after the founding of the UN, the same day marks the end of the 16 Days of Activism for Gender-Based Violence (Orange the World) and comes, among other things, to prove that the need for equality exists. This need goes hand in hand with the modern demand of feminism to ensure that all individuals have the right to self-determination and sexuality, to live a life free of racism, sexism, fear and violence and to a society that respects individuals without discrimination. The content of our page derives from the social, cultural and political life, responds to current affairs, keeps pace with developments and promotes corresponding actions and efforts. It also contains suggestions for books and movies that refer to the above issues, interviews, personal stories and testimonies, as well as videos.
In this project, the first word will have as many people as they want to express themselves by breaking the silence regarding gender stereotypes with respect to every person and their value. That is why we invite you to contribute to our action either as a reader or as an active member of our team.
